Hello all, and happy Thursday! Two weeks ago, I did an interview with Alison Simmons. And for those of you who are unfamiliar with her, Alison is a mother, Woman of God, Blogger, and the podcast host of Grace Over Perfection.

By the time we finished talking, I felt like I’d had a three-in-one session of therapy, support group, and sisterly fellowship. God is like that, giving us what we need when we need it. I hope that you re as blessed as I was when you tune into this interview.

Crystal Daye, an author, speaker, and podcaster is my next guest on the show. And when I tell you that the experience was out of this world, it was. When the interview was over, I was ready for some serious Holy Ghost shouting.

There were so many good nuggets in this interview. Before you listen, you will want to grab a pen and some paper, and take notes on her Holy-Spirit inspired message. Remember, this is black history month, and I want to support my black sisters and brothers in the industry. Please check out Crystal’s new book: Dear Insecurity on Amazon Enjoy!

Episode 87: Begin to Declutter Your Home
/

We are getting close to the end of our journey in the Begin to Declutter series. This series has been speaking to my heart, and I hope that it has been of some help to you as well. On the last podcast episode, we discussed Begin to Declutter Your Relationships. That is a heavy topic. I say heavy because tackling anything as far as relationships are concerned required grit, intentionality, boundaries, clarity, and purpose.

Even with all of that, we have to begin the task of going from wishful thinking and moving towards reality, or in other words, dealing with what is.

Today’s podcast is entitled Begin to Declutter your Home. Take a listen!

Bible Verses for Reflection

The next morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it with Uriah. 15In the letter he wrote: “Put Uriah at the front of the fiercest battle; then withdraw from him, so that he may be struck down and killed.” 16So as Joab besieged the city, he assigned Uriah to a place where he saw the strongest enemy soldiers.…

2 Samuel 11

You love those who hate you and hate those who love you. You have made it clear today that the commanders and their men mean nothing to you. I see that you would be pleased if Absalom were alive today and all of us were dead.

2 Samuel 19:6

Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

36 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.

37 And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

38 But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

40 And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

Last week was the first official week of the new year. It was during this week that I started a brand new series in order to get us started off on the right foot. Over the weekend, I was blessed with an opportunity to interview writer Victoria Coberly. You can find part 1 and part 2 of her interview here.

At the beginning of every year, there are people who are eager to come up with New Year’s resolutions. When I was a young adult, I was eager to do the same. Now that I am older, I prefer to have a word of the year, or better yet, some life goals. These goals may be professional, emotional, mental, spiritual, physical, etc. The main point for me is that I am purposely moving forward and growing.

One of the most popular areas that we have resolutions/life goals in is that of having healthier, fit bodies. Achieving this goals takes work, grit, determination, motivation, and consistency. It is not a one-time thing. It’s a lifestyle. Listen in on today’s episode to see what it feels like and what’s involved when you begin to declutter your body.

Begin to Declutter your Body Scriptures to Meditate On:

Acts 10:13-15

Then a voice said to him: “Get up, Peter, kill and eat!” “No, Lord!” Peter answered.  I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.” The voice spoke to him a second time: “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”…

Daniel 1: 8-10

But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s food or wine. So he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself. Now God had granted Daniel favor and compassion from the chief official, but he said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking thinner than those of the other young men your age? You would endanger my head before the king!”…
