Rubble

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a poem entitled, “Empathy, Empathy”.  That poem can be found here.  Today’s poem, ” Rubble” explores a conversation with God about the cards that we have been dealt.

Isn’t Fair!  Isn’t Fair!

Is there justice anywhere?

Lord, I read all your word.

Danced those songs that David stirred.

Sang in choir , don’t you see?

Spoke your vision till they believed.

Did you cause all this trouble?

Stuck down here in all this rubble.

“Yes, my child.

I do see all those struggles hitting thee.

You keep praying in your huddle.

While I clean and give you double.

All this stuff that you’ve lost.

Count it gain.

It’s for the cross.”

Bible Verse for Meditation

Joel 2: 24-26

The threshing floors will be full of grain, and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.  I will repay you for the years that the swarming locusts have eaten—the young locust, the destroying locust, and the devouring locust—My great army that I sent against you.  You will have plenty to eat, until you are satisfied. You will praise the name of the LORD your God, who has worked wonders for you. My people will never again be put to shame.…

God bless,

Katina
